Purandar Fort is heaven on the earth. This place is always looks beautiful ..like in all season this looks awesome.😇
The name of this mountain in the Sahyadri mountain range is " Indranil mountain ". As The name suggests, it often looks like Indradarbar. During the rainy season, the fort is completely covered with clouds, it is surrounded by fog.



Purandar fort has great historical significance. This is the birth palce of sambhaji maharaj (the second chhatrapati of swarajya). 







It is the highest fort above sea level. Purandar fort has large extension. The birth place of sambhaji maharaj on the fort as well as his statue and there is a statue of the Murarbaji Deshpande (killedar).



Recently there is an Army Training center on the fort so, you have to get their permission to go to the fort.

The fort is currently in the possession of the Government of Maharashtra. The fort is open for tourists from 9am to 5pm .🚵



Some old remains are found on the fort. 
To the east of the fort is Vajragad. Due to the army camp, it is not allowed to go to visit Vjragad Fort.
